Use Storebench locally and choose what to connect.

Local workspace

Saved revisions, drafts, pricing models, report history, account metadata, and media are stored in a local SQLCipher database and encrypted media files. The web interface runs on your machine and listens on the local loopback interface. Unsaved editor changes exist in the current browser session until you save or discard them. Local use does not require Storebench service sync.

A workspace is not an automatic backup. Storebench can create a password-protected backup that you choose where to keep.

Credentials and access

Apple API private keys and Reporter tokens are stored in macOS Keychain, outside the local account metadata. Storebench does not ask for your Apple Account password. A local password or a Keychain-held key protects the encryption key for the workspace. Access to the local interface is limited to the same machine and protected by its local access setup.

Moving a backup to another Mac requires reconnecting Apple and Reporter credentials there.

Current direct requests to Apple and data providers

Connecting an Apple account, importing app material, checking prices, downloading reports, and approving a publishing review make requests directly from your Mac to Apple's services. Storebench servers do not relay these requests or receive the Apple credentials used for them. Get from Apple downloads data into the local workspace; it does not upload local drafts. Reporter downloads use Apple's Reporter service. Publishing sends only the changes shown in the approved, revalidated review. Apple receives the data needed for these requests, including approved listing changes, without Storebench service sync.

Pricing previews can request exchange rates from Frankfurter or Rates By Exchange Rate API and public pricing reference data from the World Bank or The Economist. Apple credentials are not sent to exchange-rate providers. Requests to outside services are subject to those services' own privacy practices.

Optional Storebench service sync is planned

Future Storebench services may sync selected parts of your workspace if you enable them. Local use and direct requests to Apple do not require Storebench service sync. Before a connected service is offered, its notice will identify which data it sends, why, where it is processed, who receives it, how long it is retained, and how to control the connection.

Optional AI translation is planned

A planned translation feature would send only the ASO text you select and the request details needed for translation, such as the target language. You would choose between an AI engine you connect yourself and a route through Storebench. The user-connected route would send the selected text directly from your Mac to that engine, without using Storebench servers. The Storebench route would send it to a Storebench service, which may use an AI provider to produce the translation. Neither route would send Apple credentials, reports, screenshots, or the entire workspace for translation.

Translation requests are distinct from syncing a workspace. Before either route is offered, the app and notice will explain the recipients, processing location, retention, and controls for that route. An AI engine you connect yourself may have its own processing and logging practices; check that provider's terms before using it.

Connected service logs and improvement data

When you use a Storebench-operated connected service, it will record the technical and account-related data necessary to deliver requests, keep the service secure, and diagnose failures. Those operational records are part of using that service. Optional diagnostics or usage data for improving Storebench services will require a separate opt-in; declining it will not prevent local use or the basic connected service. The exact logged data categories and retention periods will be published before any such service launches. A separate opt-in for Storebench does not control the practices of an AI engine you connect yourself.

Exports, support, and your choices

Exports and backups may contain private app, account, report, and note data. Choose a private destination and decide separately if you share a file. Storebench's support action creates a draft in your email app; you review and send it yourself. The draft excludes app and account data, report contents, request headers, and local paths.

You can disconnect credentials in Settings and remove local data using your own device controls. Removing local data does not undo changes already sent to Apple.

This website

The Storebench product page uses first-party site analytics for page views, link actions, and broad engagement ranges. This website analytics is separate from Storebench app sync, translation, and logs from connected services. The site tracker uses no cookies or persistent visitor identifier and does not read Storebench workspace data. This privacy notice page does not load that tracker.
