Storebench keeps your working material in a local workspace.

What stays on your Mac

Saved revisions, drafts, pricing models, report history, account metadata, and media are stored in a local SQLCipher database and encrypted media files. The web interface runs on your machine and listens on the local loopback interface. Unsaved editor changes exist in the current browser session until you save or discard them.

A workspace is not an automatic backup. Storebench can create a password-protected backup that you choose where to keep.

Credentials and access

Apple API private keys and Reporter tokens are stored in macOS Keychain, outside the local account metadata. Storebench does not ask for your Apple Account password. A local password or a Keychain-held key protects the encryption key for the workspace. Access to the local interface is limited to the same machine and protected by its local access setup.

Moving a backup to another Mac requires reconnecting Apple and Reporter credentials there.

When Storebench contacts services

Connecting an Apple account, importing app material, checking prices, downloading reports, and approving a publishing review make requests to Apple's services. Reporter downloads use Apple's Reporter service. Publishing sends only the changes shown in the approved, revalidated review.

Pricing previews can request exchange rates from Frankfurter or Rates By Exchange Rate API and public pricing reference data from the World Bank or The Economist. Apple credentials are not sent to exchange-rate providers. Requests to outside services are subject to those services' own privacy practices.

Exports, support, and your choices

Exports and backups may contain private app, account, report, and note data. Choose a private destination and decide separately if you share a file. Storebench's support action creates a draft in your email app; you review and send it yourself. The draft excludes app and account data, report contents, request headers, and local paths.

You can disconnect credentials in Settings and remove local data using your own device controls. Removing local data does not undo changes already sent to Apple.

This website

The Storebench product page uses first-party site analytics for page views, link actions, and broad engagement ranges. The site tracker uses no cookies or persistent visitor identifier and does not read Storebench workspace data. This privacy notice page does not load that tracker.
